Operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command have arrested two members of a criminal syndicate that broke into a warehouse in Yola Local Government Area of the state and stole valuable items worth over N1.5m.
Spokesperson of the command, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday, September 17, 2022.
“On the 17/9/2022 at 0300hrs, operatives of the command, led by the Divisional Police Officer Jimeta while on Night patrol swiftly responded to distress call from Jambutu area and apprehended two suspects among syndicate of eight in connection with criminal conspiracy, house breaking by night and theft,” the PPRO said.
“The suspects, Zira James, 22, a resident of Jambutu-Yakore, Yola North local government area and Mohammed Ismail, 18, a resident of Jambutu-Asorock, broke into a warehouse situated at Banshika Street, Jambutu ,Yola North local government area and stole the the followings: thirty five Jerricans of Poweflo Oil, three cartons of breakfluid, two Generator Sets, one HP Laptop Computer and other valuables worth One Million Five Hundred Thousand Naira owned by Dizzy Oil Ltd.
“Preliminary Investigation led to the recovery of one Mercedes Benz with Reg. No. DKA 752 AG which has been used in conveying the stolen items stolen from the warehouse.” he added.
“While commending the Divisional police officer, Jimeta and his men for the success recorded, the state Commissioner of Police, CP SK Akande reiterates the command’s preparedness in timely responding to reports from the public on combating crimes and criminality in the State.
“The CP equally appreciate the Government and good People of Adamawa State for the continued support and finally directed for an in-depth investigation and diligent prosecution.”
