POLICE ALLEGEDLY SHOOT JOURNALIST IN OSOGBO

The Osun state correspondent of The Nation Newspaper, Toba Adedeji, has allegedly been shot by the police.

Adedeji was shot alongside a teenager at Olaiya, Osogbo, by overzealous policemen who wanted to disperse a mourning crowd.

The crowd was said to be that of people who converged on Olaiya to mourn the passage of Abiola Afolabi who was allegedly killed by policemen on April 4, 2022.
Afolabi was buried on Tuesday, 31st May, 2022 and his friends held a rally to mourn him.
It was gathered that Adedeji had been rushed to the Osun State University Teaching Hospital for treatment.
As at the time of this report, the Osun State Police Command is yet to react to the issue.
