NiMet ALERTS ON RISE IN TEMPERATURE

 

The Nigeria Meteorological Agency has predicted a possible rise in temperature across most northern cities in Nigeria.

A statement issued by the Agency this Friday indicates that most parts of the northern states and parts of Niger and Kwara in the central states are expected to experience temperatures greater than forty degree Celsius

The statement added few places in the south including parts of Oyo, Ogun, Osun, and Ekiti are expected to record temperatures between thirty five to forty degree Celsius.

As a result, the statement warned against occurrence of heat related illness such as stroke, sunstroke, muscle cramp and fatigue.

There are also chances of experiencing high thermal discomfort in parts of Kebbi, Dutse, Bauchi, and Jalingo.
