The Minority caucus in the House of Representatives has joined its Senate Counterpart to issue 6 weeks ultimatum to President Muhammadu Buhari to urgently address the insecurity challenges bedeviling the nation.
The minority leader Ndudi Elumelu who stated this while addressing newsmen in Abuja said this became necessary following the high spate of insecurity in the country.
The lawmaker added that the President has not done enough to protect the lives and property of the citizens as the nation’s capital is also under serious security threat.
Elumelu also lamented the rise in prices of commodity, foreign exchange, oil theft and dwindling economy which has adversely affected Nigerians.
Earlier the Senate minority leader Philip Aduda said the ultimatum was not partisan as been speculated but bored out of love for the project Nigeria
The lawmakers resolved to evoke every constitutional means within their reach to ensure the interest of Nigerians are protected.
