There are strong indications that the Korean Government will expend 13 Million Dollars in further implementing the Federal Government’s e-governance masterplan in the next five years.
The Korean Ambassador to Nigeria, Kim Young Chea stated this in a message to the launch of the project for building foundation towards Digital governance in Nigeria.
Kim Young Chea said the full operation of the Presidential Committee on E-governance will also serve as a catalyst to utilize the funds and fully implement the project.
The Korean Ambassador commended Nigeria’s efforts in improving governance through Digital skills acquisition.
In a message, the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Ali Pantami represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, William Alo said the e-governance project was part of the National Digital Economy Policy, NDEPS aimed at diversifying the nation’s economy through Digital skills acquisition and services.
Professor Pantami said the Korean Government through the Korean International Cooperation Agency, KOICA was resolute in assisting Nigeria in its drive in Digital transformation.
The event featured the presentation of a paper on Nigeria’s Digital economic potentials and strength by Professor Hung Kook Park of Sam Myung University a critical research partner of KOICA.
