2023 GENERAL ELECTIONS:ZENITH LABOUR PARTY DECRIES HIGH COST OF NOMINATION FORM BY MAJOR PARTIES

The National Chairman of the Zenith Labour Party, Dan Iwanyanwu has described as outrageous prices of expression of interest and nomination forms by major political parties in the build up to the 2023 general election.
Reacting to the development in Abuja, Iwanyanwu disclosed that the Zenith Labour Party has crashed the cost for expression of interest and nomination forms to accommodate the youths, women and those living with disabilities in line with the NOT TOO YOUNG TO RUN ACT.
According to him, the measure was to remove obstacles hindering these category of people from contesting elections despite the fact that many of them are qualified and have the capacity to govern the country.
Iwanyanwu explained that the State Houses of Assembly Expression of Interest form is, N100 thousand, while nomination form is 250 thousand.
House of Representatives, N200 thousand for expression of interest while N500 thousand for nomination.
The Senate, N500k and N1.5m.
Governorship, N2m and N10m, while that of the president is N10m and N18m respectively….
Reacting to the recent advocacy for an Interim National government by an elder statesman Afe Babalola,SAN, Iwanyanwu emphasized that it is unconstitutional and an invitation of anarchy
The National Chairman of the ZLP urged the youth to desist from internet politicking but engaged actively in grass roots politics.
He also advised political parties to practice internal party democracy to ensure a peaceful and credible general election.
